Window Restoration & Weatherization is a fun and intense, three-day, hands-on learning experience. Students will learn cost-effective restoration & weatherization of historic, double-hung, wood windows. You will be part of a team restoring the original wood windows in a historic property located in the Central Park National Historic District in Hannibal, Missouri.

This is a tuition-based class with a limit of 8 students. You will be working side-by-side all three days with instructor Bob Yapp. Bob is nationally recognized as one of the top experts in window restoration and has restored over 10,000 windows in his 53-year career.

This will be an intense, learn-by-doing opportunity. You will learn: sash removal, safe paint & glass removal, epoxy wood repair, glazing putty application, sash painting, re-roping sash weights, weather stripping & sash installation. At the end of the three days, you will know from beginning to end how to remove, completely restore, weatherize and re-install a double-hung window. You will receive a “Certificate of Completion”.

Homeowners, small contractors, preservation staff, preservation commission members, hp students and historic building owners will all benefit from this hands-on, traditional training event. All skill levels are encouraged to sign up.

Tuition for this three-day workshop is $595 and includes beverages and lunch.  Space is limited to eight students in each session and pre-registration is required.
